Purkinje cell protein 4-like protein 1 (PCP4L1),like PCP4, is characterised by the presence of an IQ domain. However, PCP4L1 also contains an auto-inhibitory element that prevents its IQ motif from binding to calmodulin. PCP4L1 may be a latent calmodulin binding protein that becomes activated by post-translational modification or additional protein interactions [].
