  • Search this entire website. Enter identifiers, names or keywords for genes, diseases, strains, ontology terms, etc. (e.g. Pax6, Parkinson, ataxia)
  • Use OR to search for either of two terms (e.g. OR mus) or quotation marks to search for phrases (e.g. "dna binding").
  • Boolean search syntax is supported: e.g. Balb* for partial matches or mus AND NOT embryo to exclude a term

Protein Domain
Type: Family
Description: Peroxidasin-like protein (PXDNL) is highly homologous to PXDN (peroxidasin), which displays low peroxidase activity []. PXDNL lacks any detectable peroxidase activity due to substitutions of conserved haem binding amino acid residues conserved in animal peroxidases []. PXDNL may function in the extracellular matrix (ECM) in the heart [].
Protein Domain
Type: Domain
Description: Peroxidasin is a secreted heme peroxidase which is involved in hydrogen peroxide metabolism and peroxidative reactions in the cardiovascular system [, ].Peroxidasin is a multidomain peroxidase. The multidomain proteins contain a signal peptide, several (e.g., five in Drosophila or one in Homo sapiens) leucine-rich regions, followed by four immunoglobulin-like domains, a linking region, the peroxidase domain, and a carboxy terminal Willebrand type C protein-protein interaction domain [, ]. This entry also includes the human peroxidasin-like protein (PDXNL), a probable oxidoreductase that lacks peroxidase activity. It inhibits the peroxidase activity of PXDN through its interaction [].
