SWI/SNF related, matrix associated, actin dependent regulator of chromatin, subfamily a, member 1 (SMARCA1, also called SNF2L) is a component of NURF (nucleosome-remodeling factor) and CERF (CECR2-containing-remodeling factor) complexes which promote the perturbation of chromatin structure in an ATP-dependent manner []. SMARCA1 is a member of the DEAD-like helicase superfamily, a diverse family of proteins involved in ATP-dependent RNA or DNA unwinding []. This domain contains the ATP-binding region.
