The B-cell antigen receptor (BCR) consists of the membrane-bound immunoglobulin (mIg) comprising two heavy (H) and two light (L) chains and the signal-transducing Igalpha/Igbeta (CD79a/CD79b) heterodimer. This entry includes CD79a and CD79b. They contain an immunoreceptor tyrosine-based activation motif (ITAM) with two conserved tyrosines that are crucial for the development and maintenance of mature B cells [].
