The G-patch domain []is a short conserved region of about 40 amino acids which occurs in a number of putative RNA-binding proteins, including tumor suppressor and DNA-damage-repair proteins, suggesting that it may have an RNA binding function. This domain is also found in type D retroviral polyproteins.
