Description: |
This region is found C-terminal to the T-box DNA binding domain in T-box transcription factors 2 and 3, which are highly homologous []. This region may be a transcription activation domain (TAD) and contains two completely conserved residues (S and P) that may be functionally important []. T-box genes are highly conserved and encode transcription factors that are involved in morphogenesis and organogenesis of both invertebrates and vertebrates [, , ]. However, TBX2 is strongly re-expressed in adults which suggests a role in non-developmental processes []. |
