Glutaredoxin domain-containing cysteine-rich protein 1 (GRXCR1) contains a region of similarity to glutaredoxin proteins and a cysteine-rich region at its C terminus. It may be involved in regulation of actin filament architecture in hair cell stereocilia []. Mutations of the GRXCR1 gene cause deafness, autosomal recessive, 25 (DFNB25) [].
