Leucine-rich repeat-containing protein 19 (LRRC19) belongs to the leucine-rich repeat protein family. It activates NF-kappaB and induces expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines []. It may act as a critical pathogen-recognition receptor in kidney mediating the elimination of uropathogenic Escherichia coli infection []. It also promotes the recruitment of immune cells and gut inflammation [].
