F11R, also known as Junctional adhesion molecule A (JAM-1), belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is a cell adhesion molecule involved in platelet aggregation []and in transendothelial migration of leukocytes []. It binds PAR-3, and may recruit PAR-3 to tight junctions []. JAM-1 has also been shown to act as a receptor for Mammalian reovirus sigma-1 []and Human Rotavirus strain Wa [].
