This entry represents glycogen-targeting PP1 (protein phosphatase 1) subunit GL (coded for by the PPP1R3B gene). It is primarily expressed in the liver where it promotes hepatic glycogen synthesis in response to insulin. It is also highly expressed in mammaian fetal lungs []and human (but not rodent) muscle [].
