FRAT proteins can bind to glycogen synthase kinase-3 (GSK-3) and Dishevelled, two proteins involved in Wnt signal transduction. FRAT2 positively regulates the Wnt signaling pathway by stabilizing beta-catenin through the association with GSK-3 []. FRAT-2 is phosphorylated by GSK3 beta and enhances GSK3 beta-mediated phosphorylation of a primed substrate to a greater extent than an unprimed substrate [].
