Upon ligand binding, the receptor translocates into the nucleus where it heterodimerises with ARNT (AHR nuclear translocator) []. The aryl hydrocarbon receptor repressor (AHRR) competes with AHR for the binding of ARNT, and thereby repressing AHR's transcription activity []. |
