This domain superfamily is found in uncharacterised protein whose genomic location within nitrogen fixation clusters suggests that they may play a role in this process. They consist of two α-helices. A four-residue linker between the helices allows them to form an anti-parallel bundle and cross over each other towards their termini []. A similar domain is found in Sulfolobus spindle-shaped virus 1 (SSV1) protein D-63 [].
