In mammals, it may act as a tumor suppressor that suppresses cell growth and enhances sensitivity to various anticancer drugs [, ]. This entry also includes the GATOR complex protein NPRL2. The GATOR1 complex functions as an inhibitor of the amino acid-sensing branch of the mTORC1 pathway. The mTORC1 pathway promotes cell growth in response to various factors including amino acids. Rag guanosine triphosphatases promote translocation of mTORC1 to the lysosomal membrane, where it is activated []. |
