Description: TNF-alpha induced protein 3-interacting protein 1 (TNIP1), also known as ABIN or Naf1, represses signalling pathways initiated by specific nuclear and transmembrane receptors []. TNIP1 represses signalling downstream of TNF-alpha receptor activation by interacting with IKK-gamma, decreasing NFkB translocation to the nucleus and ultimately reducing NFkappaB-dependent gene expression [, ]. Additionally, it is an essential anti-inflammatory component of toll-like receptor (TLR)-signalling pathways that controls C/EBP-beta activity [, ]and also an attenuator of EGF/ERK2 signalling [].
