Description: Testis-specific gene antigen10 (Tsga10) is expressed in the post-meiotic phase of spermatogenesis []. Its expression protects sperm dysfunction []. Tsga10 has been shown to prevent nuclear localization of the hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF)-1alpha by binding to it, resulting in decreased HIF-1alpha transactivation activity []. Tsga10 is also expressed in brain, and this mechanism may be involved in organ-specific regulation of hypoxic gene expression [].
