They have a single C-terminal transmembrane domain and a SNARE [soluble NSF (N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive fusion protein) attachment protein receptor]domain of approximately 60 residues. The SNARE domains are essential for membrane fusion and are conserved from yeasts to humans.
