Description: ZDHHC13 (also known as HIP14L, huntingtin-interacting protein 14-like) is a palmitoyl acyltransferase (PAT) specific for a subset of neuronal proteins, including HD and GAD2. HIP14L has 69% homology to HIP14 []. Similar to HIP14, HIP14L may play a role in the pathogenesis of Huntington disease []. It also mediates Mg2+ transport and may play a role in cellular magnesium homeostasis [].
