ES-18: A variation in a kidney esterase which had been designated esterase-18 (MNL 65, p. 13) was shown to be controlled by a presumed structural locus on Chr 19. Sixty-nine backcrosses (A/WySnA x M.m.castaneus)Fl x A/WySnA were investigated for GOT-1 and ES-18. Four recombinations were found indicating a distance of about 5.8 cM between Es-18 and Got-1. Further crosses and backcrosses are in progress to establish the gene order. |
