| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: New mutants: 1. The "obese-like" mutation reported in MNL No. 67 July 1982 p 30 is allelic with diabetes (db chromosome 4). The symbol obl must thus be changed for dbPas. Homozygous females are normoglycemic and homozygous males only slightly hyperglycemic both sexes however are highly hyperinsulinemic. It is interesting to note that, with this allele, the GDP binding activity of the mitochondria of the brown adipose tissue is normal (the physiological studies concerning this mutation have been carried out by R. Aubert and D. Lemonnier INSERM Unite 1, Hopital BICHAT - PARIS). |
