Acts upstream of or within endocrine pancreas development; glucose homeostasis; and regulation of insulin secretion. Located in Golgi apparatus; endoplasmic reticulum; and membrane. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; genitourinary system; integumental system; nervous system; and sensory organ. Orthologous to human PDE3B (phosphodiesterase 3B).
PHENOTYPE: Mutants show abnormalities in glycerol and fatty acid levels, along with changes in adipocyte morphology and decreased body fat percentage. [provided by MGI curators]
