Protein Domain : cAMP-responsive element-binding protein 3-like protein 3

Primary Identifier  IPR029806 Type  Family
Short Name  CREBH
description  cAMP-responsive element-binding protein 3-like protein 3 (also known as CREBH protein) belongs to the OASIS family, which is a group of ER stress transducers, including OASIS, BBF2H7, CREBH, CREB4 and Luman []. Mammalian CREBH protein plays a role in activating expression of inflammatory response in the liver []. This protein also regulates FGF21 transcription [].Members of the OASIS family are transcription factors that transduce signals from the ER to the cytoplasm and nucleus when unfolded proteins are accumulated in the ER. They contains a basic leucine zipper (bZIP) domain that has regulatory function and a transmembrane domain that associates with the ER. Under ER stress the protein is cleaved at the membrane, and their cleaved N-terminal cytoplasmic domain (contains the bZIP domain) translocates into the nucleus where it activates the transcription of target genes that are mediated by ER stress-responsive and cyclic AMP-responsive elements [].
