abstractText  The gene for alpha 1----3-galactosyltransferase, termed Ggta-1, was mapped to mouse chromosome 2 by Southern blot analysis of Chinese hamster x mouse somatic cell hybrids. Using an intersubspecies back-cross, this locus was positioned to the centromeric region on this chromosome, near the Hc locus.
