abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: Research News: A. Mutants. 4. Repeated epilation, Er. Dominant, probably radiation-induced (gama-irradiated spermatogonia). Complete penetrance. Homozygotes probably die prenatally. Heterozygotes grow a normal appearing, but probably somewhat dry coat until the age of about 13 days; then hair loss begins until animals have sparse fur. There follows repeated regrowth and re-epilation without any definite pattern. The coat is never completely normal, nor is there ever complete hair loss. The heterozygotes are of slightly reduced size, but are completely viable and fertile. (Hunsicker) |
