Using Crispr/CAS9 technology, the vector plus Cas9, sgRNAs and template DNA were injected into C57BL/6 zygotes. This creates a conditional-ready allele that will express the human gene and the reporter gene only after cre-mediated excision of the STOP cassette. The human gene does not have a mouse ortholog, as it is a family member unique to primates. |
