description | Founder lines C and D were generated. Expression was reported to be higher in line D than line C. Double transgenic mice expressing both light and heavy chains of the alphaD11 antibody were generated by breeding mice harboring this transgene with mice carrying Tg(CMV-IgkvaD11)ACat. |
molecularNote | The transgenic construct included a recombined Igh variable region encoding the heavy chain of the rat anti-nerve growth factor monoclonal antibody, alphaD11. The constant region of the human immunoglobulin heavy region (IGH@) was included downstream to enable the detection of the transgenic antibodies against murine immunoglobulins. The early region promoter (-601 to -16) of human CMV reportedly drove expression of the transgene in non-neuronal tissures as well as in neuronal tissues including the cortex, hippocampus, thalamus, spinal cord, retina, olfactory bulb, and cerebellum. Line C gave a higher transgenic heavy chain expression than line D. |
