Is expressed in several structures, including central nervous system; embryo mesenchyme; hemolymphoid system; integumental system; and sensory organ. Used to study lipodystrophy. Orthologous to human EBF1 (EBF transcription factor 1). PHENOTYPE: Homozygotes for a targeted null mutation exhibit a reduced striatum due to excess apoptosis, altered facial branchiomotor neurone migration, and a block in B cell differentiation.
