Enables alpha-(1->3)-fucosyltransferase activity. Involved in several processes, including leukocyte migration involved in inflammatory response; lymphocyte migration into lymph node; and regulation of leukocyte migration. Acts upstream of or within CD4-positive, CD25-positive, alpha-beta regulatory T cell differentiation; T cell migration; and leukocyte migration involved in immune response. Predicted to be located in trans-Golgi network. Orthologous to human FUT7 (fucosyltransferase 7).
PHENOTYPE: Mice homozygous for disruptions in this gene are superficially normal. However, abnormalities are found in immune cell function and lymph node morphology. Redeuced tumor metastasis is also seen. [provided by MGI curators]
