Part of CCR4-NOT complex and ribonucleoprotein complex. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; central nervous system; early conceptus; genitourinary system; and hemolymphoid system gland. Used to study rheumatoid arthritis. Orthologous to human ZFP36 (ZFP36 ring finger protein). PHENOTYPE: Homozygotes are normal at birth but soon develop myeloid hyperplasia, cachexia, patchy alopecia, dermatitis, arthritis, loss of adiposity, conjunctivitis, glomerular mesangial thickening and autoimmunity, with variable severity.
