abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: (iii) Crinkled (cr). Recessive, probably induced by nitrogen mustard. (Auerbach & Falconer, Nature 163:678-9). Affects skin and hair, with much pleiotropism. Guard hairs absent; all hairs straight (no zig-zags); hair density reduced. No hair on tail nor behind ears; no tail rings. Eyelids abnormal leading to corneal ulceration in late life. Small kinks in tip of tail. Colour pattern of agoutis modified; back blacker, flanks yellower than normal. Respiratory disorders frequent. Fertility normal; mothers rear young. Viability somewhat reduced. Linkage tests and investigations of histology and development are in progress. |
