abstractText  The regulatory enzyme, protein kinase C (PKC), is characterized by a family of related isozymes. Currently, nucleotide (nt) sequences for seven members of this family have been reported from the bovine, human and rat genomes. Only four of these seven PKC isoforms have been isolated in mouse: alpha, beta II, delta and epsilon. Here, we report the cDNA sequence encoding mouse PKC-gamma isolated from a C57BL/6 brain cDNA library. The mouse and rat PKC-gamma nt and deduced amino acid sequences share 97 and 100% identity, respectively.
