abstractText  A rat brain cDNA probe for the gene encoding the alpha 2 subunit of the dihydropyridine-sensitive L-type calcium channel was used as a hybridization probe for the Southern blot analysis of Chinese hamster x mouse somatic cell hybrids and the progeny of an intersubspecies backcross. This gene, termed Cchl2a, was mapped near the centromeric end of the Chromosome 5 linkage group with gene order: centromere-Pgy-1-Cchl2a-Il-6-Pgm-1.
