Is expressed in several structures, including 1st branchial arch; central nervous system; cranium; genitourinary system; and sensory organ. Orthologous to human COPS5 (COP9 signalosome subunit 5).
PHENOTYPE: Homozygous null mice die soon after implantation and exhibit growth-retardation, decrease in cell proliferation, and an increase in cell apoptosis. [provided by MGI curators]
