The Pcdhatm13Tyag allele has a loxP and FRT site flanked neomycin resistance gene cassette followed by a myc-tagged Venus fluorescent protein gene cassette inserted into the 5' end of the first exon, alpha1, of the first gene in the cluster, Pcdha1. The Pcdhatm12Tyag allele has a loxP and FRT site flanked neomycin resistance gene cassette inserted downstream of the last shared exon, alphaCR3, of the cluster genes. Recombination between the two results in the complete deletion of the Pcdha cluster plus the Venus gene and the two neo cassettes. |
