abstractText | The wild-derived pure M. domesticus WSB mouse strain imported by Eva M. Eicher (The Jackson Laboratory) from Michael Potter (NCI) is characterized by a distinct and consistent white head-blaze, variable ventral spotting and slight coat dilution on the WSB strain's agouti background. Mapping data from a backcross mating scheme utilizing a cross with CAST/Ei, showed this recessive pigment mutation is linked to Kitl on Chr 10. Complementation tests with Kitl<Sl>, Kitl<Sl-d>, and Kitl<sl-24J> showed blaze (blz) to be an allele of Kitl , Kitl<blz>. LL Washburn and BS Harris 3/7/13 |
