PHENOTYPE: Mice homozygous for a null allele are small with less body fat, exhibit higher trabecular bone and cortical bone area, reduced marrow adipocyte numbers, improved glucose tolerance, and are resistant to ovariectomy-induced adiposity and high-fat diet-induced adiposity and weight gain.
