Type  MGI:General Description  mutants develop iris disease that is first noticeable at 6 months of age when a population of small phagocytic clump cells began to be discernible across the iris surface with age, the underlying vasculature becomes obscured, and irides appear increasingly coarse and atrophic, particularly at the pupil margin where a narrow white band of underlying tissue is exposed with advanced age, full-thickness iris holes occur, but rarely before 2 years of age
