abstractText  By RNA in situ hybridization and immunohistochemical analyses of early stage mouse embryos, we find that alpha 4 integrin gene is expressed in migratory cranial neural crest cells originating from the presumptive forebrain, midbrain, and rhombomeres 1 and 2 of the presumptive hindbrain. alpha 4 is also expressed in epicardial progenitor cells in the septum transversum that migrate to the heart.
