It is required for the stability of GET1 []. CAMLG also stimulates calcium signaling in T cells through its involvement in elevation of intracellular calcium [], and it is essential for the survival of peripheral follicular B cells. Although CAML shows no sequence similarity to yeast Get2, they share similar biochemical properties and topology [], thus resulting in the Get2 homologue in mammals, playing the same essential role in the membrane insertion as that of Get2.
