Protein Coding Gene : Rfx7 regulatory factor X, 7

Primary Identifier  MGI:2442675 Organism  mouse, laboratory
Chromosome  9 NCBI Gene Number  319758
Mgi Type  protein coding gene
description  FUNCTION: Automated description from the Alliance of Genome Resources (Release 7.0.0)

Enables RNA polymerase II core promoter sequence-specific DNA binding activity. Involved in positive regulation of DNA-templated transcription. Located in nucleus. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; genitourinary system; nervous system; respiratory system; and sensory organ. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in autosomal dominant intellectual developmental disorder. Orthologous to human RFX7 (regulatory factor X7).
PHENOTYPE: Mice homozygous for a null allele exhibit incomplete preweaning lethality. Mice homozygous for a null allele activated in hematopoietic cells exhibit decreased NK cell maintenance and immunity in vivo and increased NK cell size, granularity, proliferation, and energetic state.
