Adult expression of this transgene is seen in the olfactory bulb, neocortex, piriform cortex, hippocampus and amygdala of the brain. Activity is primarily in excitatory neurons and astrocytes. Little or no activity is seen in inhibitory neurons. Expression is also seen in the thymus, stomach, testes, and some regions of the skin at 7-8 days of age. |
