| abstractText | In collaboration with The Jackson Laboratory Mouse Radiation Hybrid Database, a set of expressed sequences assigned to mouse chromosomes using the mouse T31 radiation hybrid (RH) mapping panel (http://www.jax.org/resources/documents/cmdata/rhmap/) has been subjected to automated load procedures in MGI (see J:68900). This load makes no attempt to associate sequences in the RH database with existing MGI markers. Sequence identifiers from the load that were not previously associated with MGI markers form the basis for new MGI markers. Curation of sequences from this load by MGI Editorial Staff regularly leads to revised nomenclature, as relationships to better characterized sequences become apparent. Nomenclature revisions and other curation of the genes represented by these sequences considers similarity to paralogous and orthologous sequences, and recommendations from both collaborative databases (NCBI, SWISS-PROT) and the scientific community.
