| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: Work in hand: A mutation has arisen spontaneously among strain 129 mice which causes fusion of the soft tissues of the digits. It is inherited as a simple recessive condition and apparently the homozygotes are not otherwise affected. Digits of one or both of the hind feet, and occasionally the front feet are fused in varying degrees. Fusions occur most commonly between the 3rd and 2nd and the 3rd and the 4th digits, although all 5 may be involved. We propose to call this mutant gene syndactylism with the symbol syn. |
