abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: M.M. Dickie. New mutations: 4. Jolting. Two abnormal animals were observed i n a litter of DBA/2WyDi in April 1963. These animals appeared to shiver or quake in the anterior portion of the body and there was some lack of coordination of hind limbs. Affected animals often survive and some of them have bred. Subsequent tests have shown that the condition is due to a recessive mutation. The mutant animals can hear and swim. They do not behave like other neuromuscular mutants described. Tests for allelism with quaking, lethargic, and leaner were negative. This mutant has been called jolting and the suggested symbol is jo. |
