Protein Coding Gene : Polr3h polymerase (RNA) III (DNA directed) polypeptide H

Primary Identifier  MGI:1926179 Organism  mouse, laboratory
Chromosome  15 NCBI Gene Number  78929
Mgi Type  protein coding gene
description  FUNCTION: Automated description from the Alliance of Genome Resources (Release 7.1.0)

Predicted to enable DNA-directed 5'-3' RNA polymerase activity. Predicted to be involved in transcription initiation at RNA polymerase III promoter. Predicted to act upstream of or within defense response to virus and innate immune response. Predicted to be located in centrosome and nucleoplasm. Predicted to be part of RNA polymerase III complex. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; limb; nervous system; respiratory system; and sensory organ. Used to study primary ovarian insufficiency. Orthologous to human POLR3H (RNA polymerase III subunit H).
PHENOTYPE: Mice homozygous for a null allele die before E10. Mice with a point mutation (p.D50G) show delayed pubertal development, with late first estrus or preputial separation, decreased fertility later in life, small litter size and decreased antral and primary follicles.
