Allele : Kash5<tm1b(KOMP)Wtsi> KASH domain containing 5; targeted mutation 1b, Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute

Primary Identifier  MGI:5700363 Allele Type  Targeted
Attribute String  Null/knockout Gene  Kash5
Transmission  Germline Strain of Origin  C57BL/6N
Is Recombinase  false Is Wild Type  false
Project Collection  KOMP-CSD
molecularNote  Mice carrying the Ccdc155tm1a(KOMP)Wtsi conditional allele were crossed with C57/B6 animals harboring a Tg(Zp3-cre)93Knw transgene to delete exons 5-8, resulting in a frame shift and the appearance of a stop codon 36 bp downstream of the 3' end of exon 4. Mice carrying this recombined allele were bred to remove Cre and were maintained as heterozygotes. Quantitative RT-PCR and Western blot analyses of whole testis lysates confirmed the complete absence of both mRNA and protein from homozygous mutant males. Testis samples from heterozygous males showed an intermediate (~50%) level of mRNA and protein.
