| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: New mutation: In a mutation-rate experiment by P. Selvy, 31 dominant skeletal mutations were induced by gamma irradiation of male 101 mice (Selby and Selby, Mutation Research 43(1977):357-375). One, mutation 320, shows striking homology to the skeletal disorder in man known as Cleidocranial dysplasia. The mutation is dominant, fully penetrant with variable expressivity and is a recessive lethal. Heterozygotes have partial or complete failure of ossification of clavicles, symphysis pubis and cranial fontanelles. We have proposed the name Cleiodocranial dysplasia (Ccd) for this mouse mutant. |
