| abstractText | Bilirubin and phenol UDP-glucuronosyltransferases (UGTs) are located on the same chromosome and comprise the UGT1 gene complex. A 1,763-bp cDNA probe (UGT1*0) specific for rat liver bilirubin UGT was used to localize the UGT1 complex locus (Ugt1a1) to chromosome region 9q35-->q36 by fluorescence in situ hybridization. This assignment is the first report on the location of a gene of the rat UGT1 complex using high-resolution banded metaphase chromosomes. |
