(b) A new Robertsonian translocation arose spontaneously in a stock carrying Rb(16.17)7Bnr and T(1;17)190Ca. G-banding has shown that the chromosomes involved are 4 and 18, and this has been confirmed by studies of male meiosis after crossing to other Robertsonians having chromosomes in common. Heterozygotes and homozygotes of both sexes are fertile. The translocation has been designated Rb(4.18)3H. (Lyon and Jarvis) |
