| abstractText | Full text of MNL contribution: 6. Leukemogenicity of the AKXD Strains. Research involves the use of molecular genetics to study murine lymphoid neoplasms. Twenty-four AKXD recombinant inbred mouse strains (derived from AKR/J, a highly lymphomatous strain, and DBA/2J, a weakly lymphomatous strain) are being analyzed for somatically-acquired proviruses. This is being done in an attempt to identify common sites of viral integration. An objective of this work is to identify proto-oncogenes as well as new cellular oncogenes that may be activated by viral integration and play a role in lymphoma development. (Mucenski, Gilbert). |
